Picture Gallery - some of Ellie's story, in pictures.

Ellie had 4 operations in 3 years. She came through each one without moaning or complaint.

She was always SO brave. She didn't cry when she lost her hair to radiotherapy; and when she was given her diagnosis she became determined to live life to the full and raise funds to help others in similar situations.

Ellie and her friends raised almost         £10 000 from 3 events over 3 days. This money went to various charities that Ellie chose - departments at the hospital that treated her, and childhood cancer charities as well as CLAPA, the cleft lip and palate association who support her little sister.

In spite of everything Ellie was determined to have fun, she was very close to her brother and sister, and was delighted to be asked to be bridesmaid for my sister, and Godmother to my friend's son and daughter...

Ellie was thrilled to have a new baby cousin. She loved little children. 15 months after her initial diagnosis Ellie got special permission to work her school holidays in a local nursery. She loved it - and they thought very highly of her.

Ellie's dream was to own and run a nursery.
